OWNER AWARENESS PARTICIPATION PROGRAM
The team of dedicated professionals at Flight Safety Solutions constantly review entries made in the RAAus OMS and from other sources globally to identify trends in reported accidents, incidents and defect reports.
We analyze trends in data to determine what events are happening and why. We share this information to;
- improve maintenance and operational training,
- identify non-conforming aircraft parts and components,
- identify non-conforming designs and,
- suggest improvements to existing technical data.
OWNERS SAFETY AWARENESS REPORTS.
Owner Safety Awareness reports (OSA) address issues when, in our opinion, the regulator, administrator and/or the aircraft manufacturer appear to fail in their duties to advise aircraft owners, operators, maintainers and pilots of known aviation safety related information – within a reasonable time frame.
OSA’s will contain maintenance or operational safety related information based on fact, research and personal experience, including assisting our BreezyLog Customers. OSA’s will be downloadable PDF documents only and disseminated via Facebook links to the Flight Safety Solutions website.i
OSA’s ARE FREE OF CHARGE
Please note that OSA’s;
- are for information only,
- are not mandatory,
- are NOT endorsed by RAAus, CASA or by the aircraft manufacturer,
- contain information that we believe aircraft owners and operators should be aware of,
- are issued purely in the interests of Flight Safety,
- are derived from information that has been submitted to the RAAus OMS and other publicly available source.

OWNER AWARENESS PARTICIPATION PROGRAM
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE AVIATION SAFER.
We cannot do this by ourselves. Flight Safety Solutions encourages aircraft owners and operators to participate in this program by providing details of any maintenance issues that may be of benefit to other aircraft owners or operators.
By sharing your experiences, whether they be operational, maintenance or administrative, we can learn what is actually happening on the flight line and strive to address problems that could lead to incidents and accidents.
HOW CAN I HELP? — GLAD YOU ASKED.
CASA and Sport Aviation administers such as Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus) provide a method where pilot, owners and maintainers should report defects or potential hazards. Reporting occurrences will help build a picture of where things could be going wrong. If reviewed appropriately, intervention can be made by advising manufacturers, maintainers, owner/operators and pilots of potential risks and mitigating actions taken to eliminate or reduce risks as much as possible.
Apart from reporting and Accident or and Incident that is an Immediately Reportable Matter (IRM) or a Routinely Reportable Matter (RRM) as required by the Transport Safety Investigation Act, we request you report the following;
A DEFECT
A defect report is raised to identify potential technical issues found in aircraft in order to reduce the chance of recurrence.
A HAZARD
A hazard report identifies a condition that can cause or contribute to unsafe operations of aircraft or aviation safety-related equipment, product and services.
EVERY EVENT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN VALUABLE SAFETY LESSONS.a
